The American-style pre-assembled pad-mounted transformer substation (industry commonly referred to as Pad-mounted Transformer) is a compact outdoor pre-assembled electrical equipment that integrates high-voltage distribution, transformer, and low-voltage distribution. It adopts an integrated box-shell design, with all assembly, wiring, and testing completed at the factory. Upon delivery to the site, it only requires foundation positioning to be put into operation. Characterized by a short installation period and minimal land occupation, it is widely applied in urban distribution networks, photovoltaic power stations, residential communities, industrial parks, municipal roads, mines, and commercial complexes.

The high-voltage compartment, oil-immersed transformer, and low-voltage compartment are integrated into a single enclosure. Assembly, withstand voltage tests, and power-on tests are completed in the factory, significantly reducing on-site construction work and shortening project timelines.

Outdoor Protection and Durability
The enclosure is constructed from high-quality cold-rolled steel or galvanized steel plates, with surface electrostatic powder coating for corrosion resistance. It achieves an IP34 protection rating, offering resistance to rain, dust, and ultraviolet radiation, and is suitable for complex outdoor climates including high temperatures, severe cold, and heavy rainfall.

Compact Structure and Space-Saving Design
Compared to traditional civil construction substations, it has a smaller footprint and can be installed directly on the ground. This makes it ideal for deployment in urban areas with limited land, green belts, and alongside roads.

Equipped with high-voltage live warning signs, observation windows, and heat-dissipating louvered windows; the transformer features built-in overload and short-circuit protection. The maintenance door is independently designed for easy daily inspection and maintenance.

The enclosure incorporates ventilation and heat dissipation structures. The transformer's heat dissipation grille optimizes airflow paths to control operational noise, making it suitable for noise-sensitive areas such as residential neighborhoods.

Q1: American type vs. European type?
A: American type integrates the switch, fuses, and transformer in one oil tank—compact and space-saving. European type separates the compartments for easier maintenance and a wider capacity range.

Q2: High-voltage protection? Fuse replacement?
A: Bayonet dual-sensing fuses plus back-up current-limiting fuses. The bayonet fuse can be replaced from outside without opening the tank; back-up fuse breaking current up to 50 kA.

Q3: Loop-feed support? Incoming options?
A: Yes. Cable connectors with 200 A elbow or 600 A "T" connectors, for loop-feed or terminal supply, with optional loop-feed, terminal, or dual-source configurations.
